Overview
The goal of the Source to Contract Pipeline Dashboard is to increase transparency and convenience for the UPST procurement process. The dashboard will make it easy to track the status of sourcing events across all of the UMass Procurement systems, (Salesforce, BuyWays, and Biddocs).
The Source to Contract Pipeline Dashboard will provide:
- Advanced and proactive review of transactions by UMass leadership before deployment or
execution - Real time status tool for contract and sourcing/bid requests, including cycle-time information
by both campus and UPST stakeholders. - A prioritization tool for contracts and sourcing needs, enabling campus leadership to drive
support. - UPST category and contracts team effectiveness driver, i.e., quality control, category strategy
definition and alignment of objective
Target Audience
A select group of people will have access to the Source to Contract Pipeline Dashboard. These stakeholders include:
- Campus Executives (VCs/AVCs, CROs, Department Heads)
- Campus Stakeholders (Sourcing Requesters, Department Reps, Campus A&F Teams, User Affinity Groups)
- UPST Leadership (All)
- UPST Managers/Users (Category Managers, Strategic Sourcing Specialists, Contract Specialists, Others)
Reporting Tools
- Intended to be used by campus leadership/department heads to drive sourcing needs
and contracts prioritization. The output includes both summary charts and status
information across all processes - Distribution to users limited by Tableau licensing requirements
- Intended to be used by a wide audience (requesters and UPST process owners) to
lookup processing status of sourcing and contract transactions at both an individual
or department level - No limit to the number of users
- More detailed transaction status available

How do I gain access to the dashboard?
To access the Source to Contract Pipeline Dashboard, you will need to request permission via the Access Request Form. Upon submission, a member of the project team will reach out to you to confirm and grant you access to the dashboard.
Please note that this tool is for use by the UPST, VCs/AVCs, CROs, and Department Heads (Facilities, IT, etc.).
How do I submit feedback on the dashboard?
If you find any errors or functionality gaps in the Source to Contract Pipeline Dashboard, please use the Feedback Form to report it. After submission, a member of the project team may reach out to you to understand the error or need in more detail.
Timeline
The project team is currently working to create supporting documentation and updating the website with any developments.
- July - The Initial Pilot will kick off with a select few UPST Managers to ensure common scenarios can be tested.
- August - The Initial Pilot will then be kicked off with users from the UMass Dartmouth campus.
- July/August - The project team will continue to build on the supporting documentation and frequently asked questions (FAQs) based on the initial pilot.
- September - The project team will assess the feedback provided by the initial pilot participants and make changes as necessary.
- September - The project team will begin planning the full pilot and sending out communication to the targeted audience.
- October/November - The Sourcing to Contract dashboard pilot will launch with the target audience. At that time, the project team will gather feedback.
