UMass recognizes that successful implementation of a Supplier Diversity Program requires more than policy and intention. We continue to invest in local and regional partnerships to collaborate on and find support with outreach efforts, supplier development, category-specific strategies, knowledge sharing and beyond.
A few key partnerships are highlighted below. We encourage you to visit these organizations to understand their offerings for our diverse and local communities.
Supplier Diversity Office (SDO)
The SDO certifies small and diverse Massachusetts-based businesses and connects them with business opportunities and resources that enhance their marketability when bidding on public contracts. UMass often advertises open bids to SDO's directory of certified businesses via SDO Hub.
Pacesetters Program
A program of the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce, Pacesetters is an ecosystem of corporations and partners who have the influence and buying power to increase economic inclusion for MBEs. UMass collaborates with other members to increase our spend and build connections with diverse suppliers.
Greater New England Minority Supplier Development Council (GNEMSDC)
GNEMSDC is the local affiliate of the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) and expands business opportunities to MBEs through certification services, development and training, and networking events.
Western Massachusetts Anchor Collaborative (WMAC)
Founded by the Western Mass Economic Development Council, the WMAC aims to provide strategies and solutions to increase local procurement opportunities from WBE and MBE in the region. UMass is part of a networking and advisory group that helped WMAC define goals around how to work with local communities to address workforce and economic challenges.
