Monthly Status Reports

In May, the first version of the ERP Roadmap was drafted and shared with campus leadership across HR, Finance, Research, Student, and IT areas. The Roadmap outlines potential options along with associated activities, timelines, and estimated costs. The goal for June is to gather feedback from leadership, which will be incorporated into the next version. Click here to learn more and stay tuned for upcoming updates.

Over the past month, we focused on reviewing ERP recommendations for each pillar based on all roadmap activities. The 2025 Summit marked a major milestone in the project, a key moment that brought together leadership and stakeholders to share, deliberate, and discuss the roadmap recommendations and guiding principles.

As for next steps, Accenture will finalize the guiding principles and deliver a draft ERP roadmap outlining proposed phases and activities for the modernization effort. Click here to learn more.

In March, we completed the Modernization Cases based on the pillars gathered during the stakeholder workshops. April will be a busy month, with many planning activities underway as we move toward completing the ERP Roadmap. Click here to learn more about everything planned for April.

February marked the completion of the ERP Stakeholder Workshops with all groups, and Accenture is now developing roadmap deliverables. March began with Accenture sharing Modernization Cases across the pillars of Human Resources, Finance, Student, and Research for campus-wide review.

November is the starting point for the ERP Roadmap. During this time, we interviewed leadership to understand current challenges and gather future insights. Additionally, we used a questionnaire to identify challenges and opportunities. December will focus on stakeholder workshops. August and September have certainly been busy. Here’s a look at what we’ve been doing to position UMass for potential ERP roadmap development starting in some time in the fall. Also, check out the updates on what’s coming up in September and beyond. 

Coming out of the April ERP Summit and the more recent Campus Focus Groups, discussions are progressing on a number of potential ERP-related activities, including the potential development of an ERP Roadmap during the current fiscal year. Here are additional updates on what’s coming up in August, September, and beyond.

June marked a significant milestone on UMass' ERP journey. We have begun engaging with key leaders across the System and its campuses to deepen our understanding of potential pathways forward for UMass.

Looking ahead to next steps, July will focus on finalizing discussions across the campuses. The insights gathered from these sessions will be instrumental in enhancing our understanding at the Summit and will contribute to the development of an ERP Roadmap and business case.

April is a significant month for UMass. We are preparing to host our first ERP Summit. The UMass ERP Summit is a first-of-its-kind event for UMass campus leadership to come together to “learn, think, and share” about Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) tools. ERP Summit website.
