On March 27th, Attorney Peter Noone along with Attorney Julie Grady from the law offices of Avery, Dooley and Noone LLP conducted a thorough training focused on Addressing Allegations of Harassment and Hostile Work Environment; The lifecycle of the University’s Reaction and Response to Harassment in the Workplace. 

The training brought together employees from all five campuses which included representatives from Human Resources, EEO and the Office of General Counsel. 

Key components of the training included:

  • Understanding harassment and the legal definitions around all types of harassment. 
  • A comprehensive overview of the investigative process, from receiving a complaint to reaching a resolution.
  • The importance of accurate documentation and guidance on best practices for documenting evidence, maintaining confidentiality, and preparing thorough reports that adhere to legal and organizational requirements.
  • The importance of approaching investigations with impartiality and fairness. 

Throughout the training, interactive dialogues and case studies provided participants with opportunities to ask questions and apply their knowledge in practical settings. 

The training served as a valuable opportunity for employees to enhance their skills, deepen their understanding of the investigative process and provided the tools and knowledge needed to address harassment complaints effectively.
