The Commonwealth Collegiate Academy (CCA) is an early college program administered through the President’s Office. CCA provides high school students the opportunity to take UMass courses in career-aligned pathways during their high school day. Students are not only able to earn college credits while still in high school at no cost to them, but they also are better prepared for the rigor and pace of college-level work.
Now in its second year, CCA enrolls over 400 students and currently has partnerships between 11 high schools and UMass Dartmouth and UMass Lowell, with goals to continue expansion to bring this opportunity to more students across the Commonwealth.
In addition to the opportunity to earn college credit, CCA students also get to experience UMass life through campus visits. CCA students this fall have visited the Lowell and Dartmouth campuses as part of their participation in the program. During their visit, they tour the campus, attend a course, and hear presentations from Enrollment, Financial Aid, and Career Services. And always a favorite activity, students also enjoy lunch in the dining hall!
