We want to welcome two new members of the Budget team - Siraj Sayyed and Julie Smith, we are so happy they are a part of the team.
Siraj joined us in April as a Management Analyst. In his 5 years of experience in Finance & Accounting, he held Financial Accountant & Analyst positions in Mumbai and was most recently a Multi-Unit Controller in Boston. During his time at the President’s Office so far, Siraj has found, “it’s great to be a part of UMass Community. Looking at colleagues from diverse cultures and backgrounds, I can say that UMass is a global village.” Fun Fact: Siraj likes to explore different cuisines and is a good cook. He loves cats; In a world full of ChatGPT, he prefers CatGPT!
Julie Smith joined us in June as a Budget Analyst after spending the last 3 years at The Center for Health Information and Analysis (CHIA) as an analyst on the provider finance team. Her group collected cost reports and financial statements from long term care facilities and used that data to set rates of payments for publicly aided patients in nursing homes and residential care facilities. Prior to working at CHIA, Julie worked at UMass Amherst in an administrative role. Fun fact: Julie has a Boston Terrier named Luna and is a UMass Amherst alumni!
