In a world where efficiency and innovation are paramount, the University of Massachusetts System has taken a bold step forward with the implementation of Softdocs as its document imaging platform of record. This decision marks a significant leap towards enhancing document management and workflow efficiency across our campuses… ALL of our campuses, as we come together to implement Softdocs, system wide.

This deployment will benefit Boston, Dartmouth, Lowell, Amherst, and Chan Medical campuses, as well as the President's Office.  We as a system have outgrown our current platform, deployed in 2011, and are moving to this cloud-based technology that will significantly improve our processes and capabilities.

“We are excited about the capabilities of Softdocs and look forward to implementing the platform across the university,” said Shawn Skelly, UMass Associate CIO for Enterprise Application and Digital Experience. “This is a significant milestone for us, as it will bring substantial operational benefits, streamline our processes, and standardize our platform across the entire system. It will also help us reduce infrastructure overhead and enhance our cybersecurity posture.”  Lori Dembowitz, Enterprise Solutions Architect, UMass Lowell adds, “We are looking forward to the automation and efficiencies we can gain with SoftDocs.”  And, My Nguyen, Associate Registrar, UMass Lowell says "It’s a new beginning with Softdocs with many possibilities! “

According to a recent press release from Softdocs, their platform will empower staff and administrators with intuitive tools designed to simplify complex workflows and increase productivity. This means quicker access to critical documents, enhanced collaboration among departments, and ultimately, a more seamless experience for students and faculty alike.

Recently, a multi-day collaborative and cross-campus in-person session was held in our Westborough, MA office.  We are excited to move forward with Softdocs.  Document imaging and process automation have advanced significantly, presenting promising opportunities for the future of UMass.
