Understanding the data and how to use the tools to access it are critical to improving decision making across the University. Although we offer a number of canned reports and dashboards, there is a wider range of questions our tools can answer. Self service allows building applications that answer a one time question for one person all the way up to building a University wide solution distributed to hundreds of users.

Dimensional Model Training

Interested in a broader understanding of what's happening when you select columns for your reports? Perhaps you want to go beyond what subject areas are currently available. Data modeling shows how the data tables you use for reporting work together to answer the questions you resolve with your reports. This training shows the planning that takes place before a data field can be selected for reporting. Topics include fact and dimension table design, data integration, scaling dimensional designs and design documentation deliverables.

Introductory Tableau Training (101)

Our hands-on introductory training for Tableau lasts approximately 2.5 hours. Once completed you will be able to create your own interactive dashboards using your own data.

Tableau has self-paced and instructor lead training. Their courses support Analyst, Data Scientist, and Designer learning paths with Basic, Intermediate and Advanced course materials.
