Date/Time:
Are you a gardener or wannabe gardener? Join the DEIA team in recognition of September 11 National Day of Service and Remembrance by volunteering with the Westborough Garden Club!
The DEIA team is hosting a volunteer event on Wednesday, September 11, 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. with the Westborough Garden Club, helping to weed, trim shrubs, and beautify local gardens in Westborough. We will be helping the Westborough Garden Club work on two of their gardens, the Island Garden located on Main Street and Gateway Garden located on Main Street. The Westborough Garden Club cares for 24 gardens in Westborough, and the Island Garden and the Gateway Garden are their largest gardens. The Westborough Garden Club needs help since membership is in a decline. The Westborough Garden Club can provide lime green Safety Vests. Volunteers would need to bring their own gloves and garden tools, such as hand rakes, shears, and loppers. Please let us know if you would still like to volunteer but are unable to bring your own gloves and tools.
We will meet at 1:45 p.m. on Wednesday, September 11 to leave for the gardens, and snacks and refreshments will be provided.
