In recognition of Veterans Day, the UMass President’s Office DEIA Team hosted a speaker program on Thursday, November 9 at 12:00 p.m.
This year’s program provided an opportunity to learn directly from dedicated UMass professionals with combined decades of experience supporting our Veterans. Participants learned about programming and support services provided to Veterans studying or working at a UMass campus.
Panelists include:
- Shelly Scott, Associate Dean of Students, UMass Dartmouth
- Lovelle Seymore, Veteran’s Resource Center Coordinator, UMass Boston
- Dr. Janine Wert, Director of Veteran’s Services, UMass Lowell
Panelists shared personal stories about the successes and challenges they have experienced and answered questions from our participants. Those that joined the conversation increased their knowledge and understanding of how the University of Massachusetts supports the UMass students and employees who have served our country, and how they too can recognize and thank our Veterans.
