About Global Accessibility Action Day
The purpose of Global Accessibility Action Day (GAAD) is to encourage people to take action and share those actions with others. As Meryl Evans says, "Progress over perfection." Every step towards a more accessible digital experience matters. While the original organizers of the global event have kept the title as Global Accessibility Awareness Day, we believe in 2025 that the awareness is already there, but people need the time to continuously improve on their accessibility skills and knowledge.
What is digital accessibility?
Digital accessibility provides disabled people with the same access to web-based services, content, and other digital products as everyone else. We all play a role in ensuring University content is accessible to employees and students with disabilities.
