Access the SPARC Pro Contracts Pipeline
The SPARC Pro Contracts Pipeline is a self-service analytics tool designed for campuses/departments to have direct and exportable access to their contract data, reporting and KPIs.
The tool leverages data from Buyways to provide:
- Advanced visibility and reporting for expiring contracts;
- In-process tracking for all key stages of contracts and contract requests:
- Historic and current cycle-time KPI visibility.
The tool provides the following dashboard views and features:
- Contracts Summary
- Active Contracts
- Expiring Contracts
- Features (Subscribe, Download)

1.1 Contracts Summary
The Contracts Summary Dashboard details the historical contract process status and cycle-time information. It presents historical data starting from FY21 to present fiscal year, and is made up of the following sections, Contract Request, Contract Execution, and Contract Cycle-Time by Review Stages.
- Contract Request Volume: Contract request covers the time from the initial submission of a "contract request form," including UPST Pre-Review (check for request completeness), campus approval, and UPST final approval.
Tracks volume of contract requests processed by completion cycle-time ranges. It presents historical data starting from FY21 to present fiscal year. - Contract Execution Volume: Summarizes the cycle-time taken by all contracting participants including UMPO (e.g. UPST, legal (OGC), Insurance, etc.), campus departments, suppliers, and campus delegation of authority (DOA), to review, negotiate, approve, and sign-off a contract.
Tracks volume of contracts processed by completion cycle-time ranges. It presents historical data starting from FY21 to present fiscal year. - Contracts Cycle-Time by Review Stage: This sections focuses on the average contract processing cycle-time taken by major stakeholders within the campus, UMPO, Supplier, and UPST in processing a contract request and executing a contract.

1.2 Active Contracts
The Active Contracts Dashboard details current information on non-completed contract process transactions, i.e., contract requests and contracts being processed for execution/signatures. It goes a bit further to actually provide individual contract details for contracts included in the visuals/charts. This dashboard has two main sections: Contract Request and Contract Execution.
- Volume of In Progress Contract Requests by Review Stage/Submitted Month: This section tracks the in-progress contract requests and the average elapsed time since the initial submission, summarized by their current review/approval stage with the toggle option to view by the month of the initial submission.
It also provides a list of all the in-progress contract requests with details. Details include Date, Department, Contract number and name, Supplier, Stakeholder, Contract value etc. - Volume of In Progress Contracts by Review Stage/Completed Month: This section tracks the in-progress contracts that have completed their contract request approval but are still going through the contract execution review process.
The volume of in-progress contracts and the average elapsed time since the contract request was approved is presented in a chart by review stage with the toggle option to view by month the contract request was approved. This information is also provided in a detailed tabular format.

1.3 Expiring Contracts
- Volume of contract requests completed: Tracks the volume of complete contracts and list of those contracts with details. Details include Date, Department, Contract number and name, Supplier, Stakeholder, Contract value etc.
- Volume of contracts executed: Tracks the volume of executed contracts and list of those contracts with details. Details include Date, Department, Contract number and name, Supplier, Stakeholder, Contract value etc.
