General Updates

  • This new page will serve as a news bulletin for all SPARC updates, including SPARC, SPARC Pro, and SPARC HR. This page will be updated periodically and users can access SPARC news through the dashboard using the new lightbulb icon.
  • Tableau Cloud Upgrade went live on 10/5 to migrate our Summit Tableau server to "Tableau Cloud". This means 100% of UMass shared data management and analytics assets will now be hosted on the cloud, giving us access to all that cloud has to offer, which in this case include:
    • Benefits of Tableau Cloud:
      • Access to Tableau Pulse and other AI capabilities;
      • Always being on the latest version of Tableau server will mean immediate access to new features;
      • Improved performance consistency, availability, and resiliency;
      • Far fewer interruptions caused by software and hardware upgrades;
      • Reduced overall maintenance and testing will free up more time for analytics
