The UMass Bank Card is a Visa credit card issued by US Bank. This is a 'one card' program that offers UMass and the cardholders flexibility to use a single card for both travel-related and supplies-related UMass expenses only. The Bank Card is a procurement tool that offers an alternative to UMass purchasing/payment processes for instances where the supplier does not accept a Purchase Order (PO), emergency purchases, and/or UMass-related travel expenses (based on your applicable department approval).
For those using a Bank Card, All Bank Card allocation and expense activities for FY25 should be submitted in Concur no later than Friday, June 20th.
To help you during this time, we’ve gathered five important tips to keep in mind regarding Bank Card usage:.
Understand the Type of Card and Restrictions You Have
Did you know not all bank cards function the same way? Some cards are intended for specific purposes, such as travel or purchases. Before you use your card, it's important to check your balance with US Bank - this can save you a real headache!
Communicate with the Bank for Travel
If you plan to travel, contact US Bank beforehand to avoid having your transactions flagged as “Potential Fraud.”
Allocate Your Transactions Regularly
To minimize disruptions, allocate your bank card transactions once a month and ensure compliance with the University Procurement Policy and Bank Card Standards.
Stay Informed - Monitor Concur Notification Emails
Keep an eye on your Concur notification emails. Concur will notify you if transactions exceed 35 days without allocation and submission. If a transaction hits the 90-day mark, your card will be suspended, and you will need to submit a case to upst@umasp.edu to have the suspension lifted.
Ask for Help
Don’t hesitate to ask for help. We hold Office Hours every Tuesday, and you can always submit a case to upst@umassp.edu for further assistance.
