We’re still riding the high of the successful Jaggaer Release 25.1, which went live on Monday, March 17, 2025. This release seamlessly blended updates from Jaggaer, our BuyWays platform provider, with UMass-driven enhancements—many of which were based on your feedback.
Could you tell which updates came from UMass and which came from Jaggaer? If not, that’s by design.
This milestone results from months of planning around how to streamline and better manage eProcurement enhancements to reduce the impact on our end users. In the past, we often rolled out internal updates quarterly or biannually—while Jaggaer rolled out their own separately. This led to change fatigue, as many of you experienced. You spoke, and we listened to you.
Going forward, UMass-driven enhancements will align with Jaggaer’s release schedule. This new coordinated approach brings several benefits:
- Better planning and feedback incorporation: We can proactively review and triage end-user input and include relevant changes in upcoming Jaggaer releases.
- Consolidated rollouts: Instead of deploying updates one module at a time, we’re shifting to multi-module releases, reducing the number of deployments users have to navigate.
- Fewer major deployments: We’re capping large updates at a maximum of three per year, in sync with Jaggaer’s schedule targeted for March, July, and November of each year.
- Improved communication and change management: With a predictable release cadence, we can better prepare campus users and communicate upcoming changes well in advance.
This marks a shift toward a more user-focused, efficient update experience—one that brings clarity, not chaos.
