Emergency Alert Notification System

The University of Massachusetts places the security and safety of its students, faculty, staff and visitors as its highest priority. To keep you informed in emergency situations each UMass campus has developed comprehensive emergency notification systems. The purpose of these systems is to keep students, faculty, staff and visitors informed about critical campus safety issues. Each campus utilizes many communication methods to ensure that people receive emergency notifications as quickly as possible.

General Information

In Case of an Emergency Dial:

12911 (internal UMass phone) or 911 (external phone)

Notify One Beacon Security of the emergency by dialing 617-646-7211 and provide the following information:

  • State your name
  • Provide exact location of emergency (address, floor, nearest office number, etc.)
  • Provide details of the incident
  • Do you need an ambulance?
