What is a Form 1099?
As a supplier to UMass, you may receive a Form 1099 from the University for services rendered. With the tax season starting in January, we need to ensure you receive your 1099 tax document for services rendered in a timely manner.
Who Receives a 1099?
UMass is required to issue a 1099 form if it has paid an unincorporated vendor, such as an individual, sole proprietor, or partnership, $600 or more for services rendered during the previous calendar year. Even if you do not receive a 1099 form, you are still responsible for reporting all taxable income on your tax return.
Ensuring Accurate Delivery
To ensure the timely delivery of your 1099, please verify that your address and contact information are up to date in your UMass profile, as the form will be mailed to that address.
