Since June 2024, over 8,000 payments totaling more than $11.5 million have been made using Recipient Select Plus (RSP), which has significantly improved transaction security and provided additional payment options to UMass individual suppliers. We adopted a phased approach, targeting individual domestic suppliers first. We are now introducing this portal to our foreign individual suppliers and partners.
As UMass’s global supplier network grows, secure and flexible payment options for our foreign suppliers are increasingly important. Since the RSP portal can provide a faster and more reliable method for international partners who need alternatives to domestic banking or prefer direct bank-to-bank transactions, the University of Massachusetts has extended the use of the Recipient Select Plus (RSP) portal to our foreign individual suppliers.
Key Advantages of Recipient Select Plus for Foreign Suppliers
As UMass continues to modernize and improve payment processes for all our suppliers, RSP represents a significant step forward in providing our foreign suppliers with faster, safer, and more convenient payment solutions. These include:
- Faster: Payments use a NET30 term compared to the traditional NET45 term.
- More Convenient: Multiple payment options, including PayPal or wire transfers, for cross-border transactions.
- Safer: Enhanced security through partnerships with UMass’s banking services providers.
Signing Up for Recipient Select Plus
For foreign individuals to utilize RSP, you will need to collaborate with your primary UMass campus contact or department to initiate the process. This involves them submitting your supplier ID, name, and email address to the UMass Treasurer’s Office at Treasurer_ePay@umassp.edu to initiate enrollment.
