As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure and compliant business environment, some suppliers may be required to submit a Certificate of Insurance (COI) based on the terms of their agreement with UMass. This ensures that the supplier meets UMass insurance requirements and operates within industry standards.

What Do You Need to Do?

First, Review Your Contract With UMass and COI Requirements:

Review your contract and specific COI requirements:

  1. Coverage includes specific types of insurance as outlined in our agreement.
  2. Policy limits meet or exceed the minimum requirements outlined in our agreement.
  3. The certificate lists the University of Massachusetts as an additional insured, where applicable.

Second, Gather Your COI & Submit:

  1. Email your COI as an attachment to: COIs@umassp.edu.
  2. Include your company name and contract number in the subject line (e.g., "COI Submission - [Your Company Name]").

Why This is Important?

Your compliance with our insurance requirements helps protect both your business and ours by mitigating potential risks. This process is a critical component of our mutual commitment to safety and operational excellence.
