A light-skinned woman with short pixie-cut hair.Kate joined the President’s Office at UMass as the Associate CIO of UITS in January of 2022.

Kate has a breadth of experience building, implementing, and supporting IT strategy, systems, and services in higher education. Before joining UMass, Kate served at Harvard University for over 13 years, first as the Director of Media Services at the Harvard Business School for 10 years, and then as the Director of Customer Engagement and Technology Services at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health for 3 years.  

Kate enjoys building and leading teams to move IT strategy into action that results in delivering perceived value to the customers and the community.  

She is committed to building diverse and inclusive cultures in IT organizations to drive creativity and innovation. Innovation is not about technology. It is about ideas and people. To achieve great things, it is important to bring a variety of perspectives, voices, and experiences to the table. 

Kate holds a Bachelor of Arts from Purdue University and an MBA from Purdue University Global.
