Elizabeth (liz) Anh Thomson (they/them/theirs), PhD, identifies as a dark-skinned, disabled, bi/queer, gender non-conforming, Vietnamese adoptee who has worked in higher education for nearly 25 years at both small and large institutions mostly in Student Affairs. They've also taught Asian American Studies, Gender and Women's Studies, and Disability Studies. Their research was in exploring the impact of a disability cultural center on disabled students in higher education. liz is passionate about social justice documentary photography, intersectionality of identities, and being in solidarity with marginalized communities. liz earned their B.A. in German and Sociology/Anthropology from Lake Forest College; M.A. in Women and Gender Studies from Roosevelt University; Ph.D. in Disability Studies from the University of Illinois Chicago.
