Jeff Edelstein (he/they) identifies as a white, Jewish, queer, neurodivergent and mentally ill 4th year Ph.D. Student studying Higher Education and disability at UMass Amherst. His research and advocacy work over the past 8 years has focused on ableism and disability community development in higher education.
They are a co-founder of the non-profit organization, the College Autism Network, as well as campus-specific disability advocacy groups such as Disability Culture @ UM at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor and the Alliance Against Ableism at UMass Amherst. He has served as a TA for courses on disability advocacy and history in the U.S. and as the Coordinator for the National Center for College Students with Disabilities (NCCSD)'s student advocacy work, DREAM. Currently, he is working as a Research Data Coordinator for the Institute for Community Inclusion (ICI) at UMass Boston.
Jeff received his B.S. in Management Information Systems and B.A. in Music from Florida State University and his M.A. in Higher Education Administration from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor.
