PhD Candidate in Chemistry, UMass Amherst

Guarav Mitra3rd-year graduate student and PhD candidate in Chemistry at UMass Amherst. I am from India and joined the Chemistry Department in Fall 2019. I am the former President of the Association for Professional Development in Chemistry (APDC) a Graduate Student Organization in the Department of Chemistry. I am the student coordinator for Energy Materials Colloquium, an interdepartmental seminar series where students and researchers present and discuss their research. I am also a Senator for the Department of Chemistry in the Graduate Student Senate (GSS). I have been involved with student government and leadership since my high school days and am passionate about good governance and practices. My research in the Kittilstved Research Group focuses on studying the effect of photochemically introduced extra charge carriers on manganese dopants in ATiO3 (A = Sr and Ba) colloidal nanocrystals.
