What is Summit?
Summit is the Shared Analytics program for the University of Massachusetts system. It enables data informed decisions and the discovery of new insights using leading analytic practices and partnerships across the campuses and the systems office.The EDA team and the University user community work together to provide training and reporting support.
Who uses Summit?
Summit is used by a variety of people across the campuses and the President's Office. Data is reviewed daily by thousands of key decision makers, executives, supervisors, and budget administrators who all use the data and interactive dashboards as part of their decision making tool sets.
What does Summit contain?
Summit data includes procured data from many of the University's systems.
- Summit Enterprise Data Warehouse contains billions of rows of procured, cleansed, and transformed data optimized for analytics from many UMass systems
- Summit Data Lake contains massive amounts of raw data ready for governed access from multiple sources
- Summit Oracle Analytics Cloud contains dozens of dashboards and thousands of reports used daily by thousands of users across UMass
- Summit Tableau hosts hundreds of users accessing sophisticated interactive dashboards and visualizations
- Summit Data Science enables development and deployment of Machine Learning and AI solutions
