Reporting to the Senior Vice President for Administration and Finance, the University Controller is responsible for financial management and reporting and controlling the proper use of funds in accordance with federal, state, and University policies and procedures. The University Controller’s Office also serves as Payroll and Property Offices for the President’s Office.

The Controller’s Office communicates on behalf of the University of Massachusetts system with personnel from the Commonwealth Comptroller’s Office, Commonwealth Auditor’s Office, federal government, and other state agencies and institutions of higher education.

The University of Massachusetts produces its annual financial reports in accordance with GASB standards.

The University of Massachusetts is an agency of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.  The University reports directly to the Office of the State Comptroller on non-state revenues and expenditures.

The University of Massachusetts is a member of NACUBO and EACUBO for the Northeast.
