Office 365, your new cloud-based home for email & calendars is here!
In accordance with the University’s strategic goal to Accelerate our Digital Transformation, the email and calendar system for UMSO will be moving to Microsoft's cloud based software service, Office 365 (O365).
Office 365 is coming on Monday, June 10th!
What do I need to know?
- There will be an email and calendar outage on Sunday, June 9th starting at 8:00pm through Monday morning.
- You will know it is okay to access your email by either calling 774-670-4350 & following the prompts or checking the Shared Services Status page.
- You will need to reconfigure your devices, please check out the Configuration Guides tab.
What are the benefits of having email & calendars on Office 365?
Less maintenance: Microsoft guarantees 99.9% uptime.
Ability to work from anywhere at anytime, as long as you have Internet connection.
- Scalable with our business: As our needs grow and evolve, so does the O365 environment.
Enhanced High Availability and Data Redundancy
Ample storage capacity
What can I expect?
No application to relearn - Users will still be able to access email through their Outlook client.
Though we’re working to make this as seamless as possible, a few steps will be needed to update your Outlook client and mobile devices to connect to your O365 account.
Detailed configuration guides will be provided prior to implementation.
