Derek HouleDerek Houle is a senior at the University of Massachusetts Lowell pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering in the Francis College of Engineering, as well as a minor in Business Administration for Engineers from the Manning School of Business.

In 2020, Derek Houle was elected to a Senate seat in the UMass Lowell Student Government from the College of Engineering. In his year as a member of SGA, he sat on the Finance committee, the Academic Affairs committee, and the PR & Events committee. As a freshman in 2018, Derek was an original member and Co-Founder of the UMass Lowell Drone Club, where he served as the Vice President for more than two years. He helped develop the club constitution, as well as get them officially recognized as a club by the UML Student Government Association.

In his spare time, Derek coaches baseball in his hometown of Bellingham, MA both at the youth and high school level. Before the COVID-19 Pandemic, Derek played multiple intramural sports with his friends on campus.

The time Derek has spent on Student Government will only help his goals of being an advocate for students on all UMass Campuses.
